After a breakup, it’s much easier to pronounce yourself dead and inexistent. You lock yourself up in your bedroom and cry yourself to sleep at night. Interacting with other people and hanging out with your friends seem like an unnecessary pastime. You’d rather spend your time at home alone and thinking if he’ll ever want you back. Crying after a breakup is normal, and is in fact healthy as it allows you to cascade all the distressing emotions that are weighing you down. However, at one point, you do have to realize that you have to move on. Moving on will not only do yourself well, but will also bring your feet back to reality that you do have your family and friends with you. Exactly how do you move on after a break up? Here is how…

What’s Done is Done

There’s no better way to start moving on than by accepting the fact that you and your former boyfriend are no longer a couple. It’s perfectly fine to cry over it, but sooner or later you have to get a grip of yourself and start looking forward. You have to find the courage to tell yourself that you’re already single and embrace that amazing opportunity. Remember that being single also offers a lot of wonderful prospects, so do not lose hope.

Getting Back to the Real World

Once you’ve found the strength to accept what happened, then it’s time to get back on your feet. Step into the sunlight and hang out with your friends. Sharing a problem with a friend is always an effective form of therapy. Let your friends help you out. Bear in mind that you need all the help you can get since you are at your most vulnerable stage. Now is not the time to emanate your pride.

Bittersweet Beginning’

It’s normal to be bitter right after a breakup, but being able to overcome that bitterness and transforming that into a new beginning is sometimes more fruitful for your growth as a person. In order to help yourself move on, you need to release yourself from all the resentment
